
NAPTIP Bayelsa Command Expresses Readiness to Work With GRIT
The Bayelsa State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) expresses readiness to work with Bayelsa State Gender Response Initiative Team, GRIT.
Mrs. Abieyuwa Ikhidero, state commander, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP stated this when the agency hosted members of the Bayelsa State Gender Response Initiative Team (GRIT).
According to Commander Ikhidero, the agency is ready to collaborate with credible partners to combat human trafficking and related social issues effectively.
The NAPTIP State Commander warmly welcomed the visitors and took the opportunity to enlighten them on NAPTIP’s mandate.
Commander Ikhidero commended the Chairperson and her team for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit the State Command, noting that their visit symbolized their commitment and dedication to the fight against gender-based violence and other social vices.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of GRIT, Mrs. Diseye Egberipou, Esq., expressed appreciation for the impactful work NAPTIP is doing in Bayelsa State.
Egberipou, stated that the purpose of their visit was to strengthen partnerships in the fight against gender-based violence, human trafficking, and child abuse.
Bayelsa State GRIT chairperson also proposed joint sensitization campaigns, a suggestion which Commander Ikhidero welcomed with enthusiasm.
A highlight of the visit was the symbolic issuing of red cards to human traffickers, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance against human trafficking.
The event also featured the presentation of the agency’s Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, as well as group photographs to commemorate the visit.
