
NAPTIP Bayelsa Command Partners with AWAGBV to Combat Trafficking
The Bayelsa State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) played host to the Association of Women Against Gender-Based Violence (AWAGBV).
Speaking during the visit, the State Commander, Mrs. Abieyuwa Ikhidero, expressed appreciation to the coalition (AWAGBV) for the visit.
She emphasized NAPTIP’s openness to collaborate with credible organizations committed to the protection of vulnerable individuals.
The state commander also used the opportunity to educate the visitors on the dangers and far-reaching consequences of human trafficking, child abuse, and gender-based violence.
Earlier, the National President of the coalition, Dr. Dise Ogbise Goddy-Harry, stated that the purpose of the visit was to foster a stronger partnership with the Agency in the ongoing fight against human trafficking, child abuse, and gender-based violence.
The high point of the visit was the presentation of some of the Agency’s Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, as well as the symbolic issuance of the Red Cards to human traffickers.
