
NAPTIP Educates Religious Leaders on the Dangers of Human Trafficking in Bayelsa
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Bayelsa State Command has educated Rev. Fathers and Sisters on the dangers of human trafficking.
The one-day workshop was organized by Nigeria Conference of Women Religious Against Human Trafficking (NCWRaHT) Benin Ecclesiastical Province at Azaiki Public Library and Museum, Yenagoa.
The State Ag Commander of NAPTIP Mr. Fadeware Timiebiowei was represented by Mr Wariebi Sambo Head Public Enlightenment Unit, Mr Sambo who was a guest lecturer.
Mr Timibiowei centered on the understanding human trafficking and the Control Methods used by traffickers.
He further encouraged the participants to join hands with NAPTIP in kicking out human trafficking from Nigeria.
The second speaker, Barrister Dise Ogbise Goddy Harry, PhD, National President of Association of Women Against Human Trafficking, took the participants on Gender-Based Violence and the various reporting channels.
Rev. Sister Chidinma Priscilla Ogbinna the Provincial Secretary and the coordinator of the workshop thanked the Guest speakers and participants for making the workshop a success.
She encouraged them to spread the message in their parishes.
The participants at the workshop were drawn from Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa States.
The highpoint of the workshop was the taking of a group photograph and the giving of Red Card to human traffickers in the states.
