The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening local content advocacy and media excellence as it participated in the dozenth edition of the Bayelsa Media Awards, themed “Bayelsa First: Promoting Culture, Driving Investment Through Media.”
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. He noted that the media serves as a bridge between policy and public understanding, ensuring that citizens appreciate the value of homegrown innovation and enterprise across the oil and gas sectors.
According to Engr. Ogbe, NCDMB remains committed to recognizing and rewarding excellence in journalism that advances the Nigerian Content agenda. He commended the Bayelsa Media Awards for fostering professionalism and inspiring accurate reportage of the oil, gas, and economic sectors.
As part of its continued support, the NCDMB sponsored two categories at this year’s event — Oil & Gas Broadcast Reporter of the Year and Economy Reporter of the Year — won by Ebitimi Zitimiyola and Bassey Willie, respectively. Each winner received a ₦1 million cash prize and a standard laptop, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to media excellence.
Representing the Board at the event, Mr. Teddy Bai, Chief Supervisor, Government Relations, and Mr. Ifeanyi Nwokemodo, Supervisor, Corporate Communications Division, reiterated the Board’s drive to deepen partnerships with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and other media stakeholders.
Through capacity-building programs and consistent engagement, NCDMB aims to enhance reportage around local content, economic diversification, and sustainable development within the Niger Delta and beyond.
