
NCDMB Participates in Kick-Off Ceremony for Rig Site Cutting Services and Treatment Training
Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) participated in the official kick-off ceremony for a specialized training programme on Rig Site Cutting Services and Treatment Organized by WASCO oil servicing company in partnership with Total Energies and NCDMB. The event was held at Casoni International Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
NCDMB’s team was led by Mr. Joseph Samuel, Supervisor of Human Capacity Development (HCD), who delivered remarks during the ceremony. He conveyed the Board’s commitment to developing Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry and its linkage sectors.
Mr. Samuel emphasized the importance of building a highly skilled local workforce to drive indigenous participation in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. Developing in-country capacity remains a cardinal aspect of the NCDMB mandate, and we will continue to invest in human capital development until that mandate is fully realized,” he stated.
He further advised the trainees to take the program seriously, assuring them that they would be equipped with the necessary tools and resources to maximize their learning experience.
During the event, the training deliverables were formally presented. The 12-month program will encompass both classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) and will cover the following modules:
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
Soft Skills (Microsoft Office, Presentation Skills, Volunteerism [VOL], Nigerian Content Awareness [NCA])
Introduction to Oil and Gas
Project Management (including PM certification)
Document Control
Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (T-BOSIET)
Solid Control Equipment
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
As part of the onboarding process, all trainees were administered an oath on the code of conduct to guide their activities throughout the duration of the program.
The ceremony concluded with a group photograph featuring representatives from WASCO, TotalEnergies, NCDMB, and the trainees, marking the official commencement of the training programme
