NCDMB Reaffirms Commitment to Innovation at SciBiz Annual Conference 2025
YENAGOA – The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reaffirmed its strong commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable economic growth through research-driven partnerships across government, academia, and industry.
This position was restated earlier today by the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), who was represented by Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, Director of Corporate Services, at the SciBiz Annual Conference 2025 held at the PTDF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The high-profile conference, themed “Collaborative Ecosystems for Sustainable Innovation and Economic Growth,” brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and innovators to explore the potential of the Triple Helix model—a framework that unites government, academia, and industry in co-creating solutions to national challenges while unlocking fresh opportunities for economic advancement.
Speaking on behalf of the NCDMB, Dr. Halilu emphasized that the Board remains steadfast in building a resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven ecosystem that promotes indigenous capacity and technology. He noted that through the NCDMB Research and Development Framework, the Board continues to support initiatives that bridge the gap between research institutions and industry players.
According to him, these efforts are not merely symbolic but represent a practical investment in Nigeria’s industrial and economic future, ensuring that homegrown solutions are nurtured, developed, and commercialized to meet local and global demands.
“The NCDMB is committed to strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to drive innovation and sustainable development. By connecting research with real-world industry applications, we are ensuring that Nigeria’s best ideas do not remain in laboratories but become products, technologies, and enterprises that transform our economy,” Dr. Halilu stated.
The SciBiz Annual Conference 2025 served as a dynamic platform for advancing the national innovation agenda, highlighting the importance of collective action in driving sustainable economic transformation through science, business, and technology synergy.
