NOA Seeks ENWAF Coll
aboration to Promote Value Orientation
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called for collaboration with the Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation (ENWAF) to promote value reorientation and respect for national symbols in Bayelsa State.
During a visit to ENWAF’s office, NOA representative Mrs. Grace Olobio emphasized the need for citizens to embrace values like honesty and discipline to foster societal improvement.
Mrs Olobio explained that the essence of the visit was to intimate members of ENWAF on the need for citizens to incorporate values such as honesty, discipline and dignity of labour to build a better society.
“We should go back to the values that has kept us as individuals and families. Our values are very important, we need to hold on to it, we cannot behave anyhow because we want to survive”
While speaking on the national symbols such as the national flag, anthem and pledge, she called on citizens to respect and value these symbols as they represent the Nigerian identity within and outside the country.
“The government is ready to work for its citizens to ensure equality for all, democracy, creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship, freedom of speech, justice, meritocracy, peace and security as well as inclusivity for all citizens to be part of governance”
However, she noted that citizens should be ready to play their part by imbibing moral values such as discipline, duty of care, tolerance, resilience, qualitative leadership and transparency for the development of the society.
Chief Executive Officer, ENWAF, Lady Eunice Nnachi who expressed appreciation to the NOA team for the visit assured them of support from ENWAF to sensitize and educate women particularly those at the grassroots.
She expressed readiness to support sensitization campaigns, particularly targeting grassroots women, while urging enhanced media engagement for broader awareness of government policies
“ENWAF is ready to work with you to carry out sensitization campaigns. The importance of value orientation cannot be overemphasized. We would visit communities to talk about value orientation, birth registration and other policies of the government through the agency”
Also speaking, Vice Chairperson, ENWAF Mrs Juliet Uyabara appreciated NOA for the visit and urged them to deepen their sensitization using the media and other relevant stakeholders to educate more people about the policies and programs of the government.
