Organisers Commence 2024 Edition of NCDMB Undergraduate Essay Competition
Organisers of Annual National Undergraduate Essay Competition officially commence 2024 NCDMB marking its eighth edition.
The Project Consultant, Mr. Eyinimi Omorozi, CEO of Mahogany 21 Century Concepts Limited, announced that numerous students from various higher institutions have registered to participate, with essay submissions open until October 14, 2024.
This prestigious competition, organized by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), aims to promote academic excellence among undergraduates while fostering awareness of local content initiatives in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The 2024 essay topic is “Nigerian Content and Opportunities in African Local Content Advancement,” specifically targeting students in their first or second year at Nigerian universities and polytechnics.
Participants can win substantial cash prizes: N1,000,000 for first place, N700,000 for second, and N500,000 for third. Additionally, all top ten finalists will receive laptops.
Essays must be original works not exceeding 1,500 words and submitted via the competition’s website. The final assessment for shortlisted entrants will occur by October 28, with an awards ceremony scheduled for November.
Omorozi emphasized the competition’s role in developing local capacities and competencies among youth to prepare them for effective participation in the oil and gas industry.
By engaging students in this initiative, the NCDMB aims to cultivate a generation capable of driving Nigeria’s content development forward. Interested participants can find more details and submit their essays at www.ncdmbessay.ng.
