2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme Opens for Applications
The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme has officially opened for applications, offering eligible first-year students across Nigerian universities an opportunity to secure full academic support under one of the country’s most competitive educational funding programmes.
In a statement released by the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), the company reaffirmed its commitment to developing human capital through sustained investments in education. The scholarship scheme, established to support outstanding undergraduates, targets students newly admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session into federal and state-owned universities.
According to NLNG, the initiative aims to empower young Nigerians with the resources needed to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to national growth.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify, applicants must be Nigerian citizens residing in the country and must have secured full-time admission into a recognized university. Candidates are required to possess a minimum of five O’Level credits—including Mathematics and English—in a single sitting, and must have scored at least 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Eligible applicants must also be between 18 and 25 years old, must not be recipients of any other scholarships, and must not have personal or family ties with NLNG staff members.
Application Process

Applicants must upload a recent passport photograph and relevant documents including WAEC/NECO results, JAMB UTME scores, JAMB admission letter, local government identification, and birth certificate.
NLNG stated that shortlisted applicants will undergo a computer-based online proctored test, after which additional documentation will be required from successful candidates.
The company also emphasized that the application process is completely free of charge, warning students and parents to be vigilant of fraudulent websites or individuals claiming to represent NLNG.
Support for Persons With Disabilities
In line with its inclusive policy, NLNG encouraged persons with disabilities to apply. Candidates who require special support during the online test are advised to submit a request for “Reasonable Adjustment” via email after completing their application.
Deadline and Additional Information
The company stressed the importance of strict adherence to eligibility criteria and proper documentation, noting that falsified records will lead to automatic disqualification. NLNG also clarified that the scholarship does not guarantee employment with the company upon graduation.
