
Pepple, New NYSC Coordinator, Bayelsa Office Received in Yenagoa
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Bayelsa State Office, has received a new State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel A. Pepple.
Mr. Pepple has since assumed duty as the new NYSC Bayelsa State Coordinator and was formally presented for introduction and familiarization following a handover ceremony at the State Secretariat by the outgoing State Coordinator, Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, who recently completed her three-year tenure.
Consequently, Mr. Pepple paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, the supervising ministry of the NYSC in the state, for familiarization and official introduction.
In his brief remarks, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha, expressed pleasure at receiving the new State Coordinator and stated, “We look forward to a productive tenure marked by impactful service and meaningful progress.”
Also present at the occasion were the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, and other management staff of the NYSC.
Mr Samuel Amaramiro Pepple, before his deployment to Bayelsa office of the NYSC, was the 21st Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Service Corps, Ondo State and it comes with a melange of solid Private and Public Service experience.
Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers, young Sam grew up in Enugu, and Afikpo, in Ebonyi.
He attended WTC Practising School, Enugu, Annunciation Secondary School, Isuikwato before proceeding to the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he studied English Language.
At the University of Nigeria, Pepple was a student activist and served as the Secretary-General of the Students Union.
Upon graduation and completion of the mandatory National Youth Service, he started his career as a journalist with the defunct Sunray Newspapers in 1994, where he distinguished himself as a Sub-Editor, reporter, and Columnist.
In 1998, Sam began his stint in the Public Service with the NYSC as an Inspector II in Kano State and has risen through the rungs from various positions and formations.
A highly versatile and dependable officer, he served as Personal Assistant to the State Director, NYSC Kano and Head, Public Relations, NYSC Kano, Local Government Inspector, Zonal Inspector, Personal Assistant to Director, ICT, Personal Assistant to the Director, Corps Mobilisation, where he was an integral part of the NYSC Online integrated platform success story; and Personal Assistant to the Director, Human Resources.
Armed with a Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) and another Master of Science (MSc) in Public Administration, Pepple’s cerebral and intellectual acumen have remained indelible wherever he worked.
On his secondment to the Nigerian National Assembly, he was appointed Special Assistant (Speech Writing) to the Deputy Speaker and Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Senate Chief Whip between 2001 and 2003.
With a rich experiential background and deep insight into the workings of the Scheme, Samuel Pepple has also served as Assistant Director, Service Delivery in the Reforms Unit of the Directorate Headquarters, Assistant Director, FCT Secretariat, Deputy Director, (Empowerment), Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Department, Deputy Director, Corps Welfare in Corps Welfare and Health Services Department and Deputy Director, (Operations), North East Area Office, Bauchi from where he was appointed as the helmsman of NYSC, Ondo.
Highly talented, imaginative, resourceful and loyal, Sam Pepple is a man of many parts. A team player, Literary Artist, Publicist, Policy Analyst and Public Administrator. He is a former National Publicity Secretary of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association, member, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), member, Institute for Humanitarian Studies & Social Development (IHSSD) and a member of NYSC Director General’s Think-Tank.
A student of Jeremy Bentham’s Utilitarian philosophy of the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people, Samuel Amaramiro Pepple is married with children. He loves Writing, Reading and Tennis.
