President Bola Tinubu Praises Bishop David Oyedepo at 71
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, on his 71st birthday, praising his decades of remarkable influence on Nigeria’s spiritual and educational landscape.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Bishop Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of Winners’ Chapel, as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa and beyond on spiritual, educational and philanthropic platforms.”
President Tinubu commended Bishop Oyedepo’s discipline and diligence since establishing the ministry in 1982, noting that these qualities have driven the global expansion of Living Faith Church Worldwide and enabled significant contributions to infrastructure, health, and education across several cities and countries.
Highlighting Bishop Oyedepo’s investments in education, the President cited the Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, and the two universities — Covenant and Landmark — which he said “continue to raise the standard of education, competing favourably with other global institutions.”
“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings.
Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy,” the President stated.
He added that Bishop Oyedepo’s contributions to nation-building through preaching, teaching, and service remain deeply appreciated by the government, describing him as “a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate.”
President Tinubu prayed for the Bishop’s long life, good health, and wisdom to continue to lift individuals, families, and nations “with the Word of Faith.”
Bishop Oyedepo, one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders, founded Living Faith Church Worldwide in 1981, with its headquarters at Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
