
Stakeholders Describe Bayelsa NAPTIP Commander as Dynamic and Exceptional Personality
The Bayelsa State Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Mrs Abieyuwa Ikhidero has been described as a dynamic and exceptional leader.
These and many more accolades were given to Mrs Ikhidero by staff and stakeholders during a sendforth meeting held at NAPTIP office, Federal Secretariat in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Executive Director, Women Organized for Mentorship and Advocacy Network, WOMAN, Lady Eunice Nnachi who extolled the good qualities of Mrs Ikhidero noted that she does her work with great passion and zeal.
Lady Nnachi who also described her as a humble woman emphasized the role she played in helping to reduce human traffickers in the state and uniting victims with their families.
“She is a good woman, she has provided hope for victims of human trafficking, she has been of great support to us in making this state a better and safer place”
She prayed that God would continue to bless and keep Mrs Ikhidero with good health to achieve enviable heights in her career.
Head of Public Enlightenment, Mr Wariebi Sambo who recalled Mrs Ikhidero’s service in Bayelsa State since 2001 said despite inadequate funding and resources, she has served meritoriously with utmost dedication and commitment.
“Mrs Abieyuwa has worked tirelessly in Bayelsa State despite much difficulties, she has organized over 200 sensitization campaigns to schools, markets and other public places, even in all local government areas, spreading the message on human trafficking”
Mr Sambo who described her as a disciplinarian who does not tolerate laziness and indiscipline among staff, expressed gratitude to Mrs Ikhidero for making their work easier by providing staff with the needed materials to carry out their duties.
Also speaking, Head of Account department, Mr Timibowei Fadeware thanked the NAPTIP boss for being a woman of integrity with a unique style of leadership which has been beneficial to all persons who have worked with her.
In her response, NAPTIP State Commander, Mrs Abieyuwa Ikhidero expressed appreciation to all staff and stakeholders in Bayelsa State for giving her the needed support to achieve a zero tolerance for human trafficking in the state.
“I love Bayelsa State, I will continue to show good to this state, I thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve, I did well with the help of you all, I assisted countless homes to unite with their children, I thank you all for honouring me”
Mrs Ikhidero urged all staff of NAPTIP to be diligent and disciplined in the discharge of their duties particularly in ensuring that human trafficking is curbed in Bayelsa State.
