INSIGHT | Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 17 October 2023 Jerry Eze Titled The Blessing is on You
THE BLESSING IS ON YOU
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.” (Genesis 26: 12)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Isaac sowed in the land of Gerar, and reaped a huge harvest. The word ‘Gerar’ has several unfavourable meanings one of which is ‘dispute’. So in a land that was in ‘dispute’, Isaac reaped a heavy harvest. It may have made sense to seek for a better land, but the blessing was upon Isaac, and he reaped a harvest that was not in dispute. In an unfavourable land, the harvest of Isaac came in uncommon dimensions and proportions.
Friend, you may be in ‘Gerar’; you may be in an unfavourable place, but it won’t stop your blessing from arriving. You may be in a place surrounded by dispute, but you shall have results that will silence your opposers. You may be faced with policies that don’t want you to see the light of day, but the blessing on you will cause you to have uncommon results. Like Isaac, you may be in a land in famine, but your harvest will be a hundred fold.
In a season where men did not expect harvest, Isaac walked into a harvest that caused even the inhabitants of the land to envy him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: in the same land where people do not expect harvest, your heavy harvest shall arrive speedily. In the same season where dryness was the order of the day, fruitfulness was the portion of Isaac. Others were empty handed, but Isaac had excess harvest, in the same land.
Don’t be afraid if God would have you do a new thing that seems uncommon or unconventional. The blessing is on you, not on your circumstances. The blessing is on you, not on the policies of government. The blessing is on you, not on the men who do not like you. The blessing is on you, not on the environment. Because the blessing is on you, what happens around you will not stop what God is about to make happen for you.
Remember, the blessing was not on Gerar; it was on Isaac, and his results caused the Philistines to envy him. Welcome to that season where the blessing on you will cause those that do not like you to envy you.
Isaiah 54: 3 says: “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
Declare With Me: The blessing is on me; I receive results that will provoke envy from my rivals, in Jesus’ name!
