INSIGHT | Streams of Joy Daily Devotional by Jerry Eze Monday 1st January 2024 Today | El Roi

Our Focal Scripture captures that moment when Hagar called God “The God That Sees Me”. That phrase, from the original Hebrew texts, is “El Roi”. Hagar had left the home of Abram, having being sent away by Sarai. She was in a vulnerable state. She journeyed all the way into the desert. She found herself in a place and state where no one would speak for her; but right in the bush, God sent an angel that gave words of comfort and direction to Hagar. The God that sees, saw Hagar. El Roi saw Hagar.

Friend, let me bring you a prophetic word from the Lord: in 2024, Jehovah will be to you El Roi, the God that sees you. The eyes of the Lord will be fixated on you. Even when there is no one to see you, El Roi will see you. Even when there is no one to speak for you, El Roi will see you. Even when you are caught up in the desert, in the middle of dryness, El Roi will see you. Even when you think you are undeserving, El Roi will see you.

Right in the desert where Hagar was, oblivious of what was to come her way, El Roi- the God that sees everyone, saw her and came to her rescue. You may be caught in the wilderness already, but be rest assured that El Roi sees you. He sees what you are dealing with. He sees the opposition against you. He sees the errors you cannot correct on your own. He sees where you need help. He sees the odds that are already against you.

El Roi saw Hagar in the desert, but He did not leave her in the desert. The God that sees, did not leave Hagar where He saw her. Hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2024, El Roi, the God that sees you, will not leave you where He saw you. God will not leave you in the wilderness where He saw you. He will not leave you in the dryness in which He saw you. He will not leave you in the difficult situations you may have walked yourself into.

Welcome to a new season where the eyes of the Lord will be permanently upon you. Welcome to that new season where El Roi, the God that sees you, has His eyes fixed on you.

Psalm 34:15 says: “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”

Declare With Me: In 2024, El Roi has His eyes on me, in Jesus’ name!
