Tinubu Holds Emergency Security Meeting at State House
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday convened an extended high-level security meeting at the State House with Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and heads of the nation’s intelligence agencies, as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to stabilise insecurity-prone areas across the country.
According to the President, the meeting is focused on reviewing the latest security reports and taking “decisive actions to stabilise the affected areas and protect our citizens.” He disclosed that he has been receiving continuous briefings from the heads of security formations and has issued firm directives for immediate coordinated action.
President Tinubu stated that security agencies have been ordered to respond with “speed, precision, and absolute resolve,” signalling a renewed and aggressive push to counter rising threats in several states.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to public safety, the President warned that individuals and groups threatening national peace will face the “full weight of the law.”
“As President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians,” he said. “Nigeria will prevail.”
The emergency meeting comes amid heightened public concern following recent security incidents, with citizens expecting swift and effective interventions from the nation’s security architecture.
