The newly appointed chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee chairman in Bayelsa State, Bar. George Turner has accepted the position with a vow to implement substantial reforms and improve welfare packaging for members of the State Working Committee (SWC), local government and ward executives.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Porthacourt, the media assistance to PDP South/ South Zonal Secretary and caretaker chairman for Bayelsa State, Kelvin Loveday Egba, the new chairman noted that he would consult with stakeholders regarding the need for a more suitable state secretariat for the party, assuring that he would not operate from the super lodge in Yenagoa like his predecessor did as such action would restrict the people’s accessibility of party.
While expressing gratitude to the National Vice Chairman of the party in the South/South, Chief Dan Orbih, George Turner emphasised that his leadership would prioritize increased engagement and consultation with stakeholders just as he promised to foster discipline within the party, adding that he would also maintain an open door policy to sustain, unite and enhance collaboration among PDP members in the state.
