
US based Victory Godah Donates Canvas, Spike Shoes to Athletes in Yenagoa
US Bayelsa’s sprint star, Victory Godah has donated different sporting kits including pairs of canvasses and spike shoes to young athletes of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association.
Victory, a student of the University of Minnesota in the United States of America made the donation at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa.
She said her motivation is borne out of the fact that she believes in growing by raising others.
“For me, I like smiling so I always want others to smile, I didn’t have much support while growing up, so, I always want to assist others”, she said.
The Ekeremor-born athlete charged the beneficiaries to always strive to be greater than what they have achieved.
On his part, Auditor of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and Vice-Chairman of the State Athletics Association, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe, who used the opportunity to brief the athletes on his elevation, appreciated Victory for the gesture and urged the athletes to make judicious use of the kits.
Oredipe, appreciated the coaches of the Association for their hard work and energy in the training of the state athletes, particularly the young ones.
