‘Women Are Custodians of Their Families’, Says Prophetess Edema
Women have been described as mentors and custodians of the church and their families.
Clergy of the Celestial Church of Christ in Bayelsa State, Prophetess Olufunke Edema disclosed this during an interview which is part of activities for the remembrance of the death of the founder.
Prophetess Edema also noted that women guide and empower other women in their spiritual journey particularly in spiritual exercises such as praying and study of the word of God.
“We know that women make up a large part of the church, we teach women who want to marry how to take care of their homes and the married women are taught to keep their homes”
She also pointed out that although women are known for cooking and cleaning, they are also consulted during decision making process by the men of the church.
Speaking on the impact of prophecy in the lives of Christians, she noted that prophecy is about the present, past and future.
“Prophecy plays a big role in the lives of humans, it encourages, it edifies, it leads someone to the right path, if you want to do something concerning your future, your life, you should ask God, where am I going ”
She encouraged christians to always seek God before making life decisions, wait for revelations and obey divine instructions.
” The world is full of the wicked ones, so prophecy will guide and protect your footsteps especially as believers”
However, she emphasized the need to connect spiritually to receive prophecies from God adding that reflective thinking and faith in God can help to believers to identify true prophecies.
The Celestial Church of Christ in Bayelsa State joins her other sister churches to celebrate the 40th memorial service of the founder, Prophet SBJ Oshofa.
