Agbura Community Rulers Drums Support for Exclusive Breastfeeding
As part of activities to promote exclusive breastfeeding among women of child bearing age, the Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria, CS-SUNN has visited the traditional chief and leaders of Agbura Community.
State Coordinator, Mrs Ekinabhari Unity Ototo pointed out exclusive breastfeeding is important as it fosters a strong bond between mothers and their children thereby promoting emotional security.
She added that exclusive breastfeeding also supports cognitive development and reduces the risk of obesity, diabetes, and certain chronic illnesses later in life.
Agbura Community Paramount Ruler, His Royal Highness, Chief E.N. Aduafa Ikila appreciated the CS-SUNN team for the visit and promised to disseminate the information to the women in the community.
