
BAFENPA Honours Hon. Target Isaiah Segibo as Life Time Patron, Presents Award of Excellence

The Bayelsa Federated Newspaper Publishers Association (BAFENPA) has formally appointed the Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Honourable Target Isaiah Segibo, as Life Time Patron of the prestigious newspaper organization in the state.
During the ceremony, the organization also presented Honourable Target Isaiah Segibo with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his exemplary leadership style and unwavering commitment to the advancement of peace and unity across the local government area.
The honour, according to the BAFENPA Chairman, Chief Jones Abiri, is a demonstration of love, respect, and solidarity with the Council Chairman. It also reflects the Chairman’s mission to promote togetherness, cultural heritage, and social harmony within the people of Southern Ijaw.

The newspaper organization further noted that the recognition was not only a symbolic gesture but also an appreciation of the Council Chairman’s steadfast role as an advocate of peace, unity, and development, whose influence continues to inspire collective progress in the area.
Chief Abiri noted with happiness the road leading to Oporoma, the Council’s headquarters, for the role of mediation between host communities and the company without crisis.
In his response, Honourable Target Isaiah Segibo said he never thought of such an award, out of eight local government councils, where he was singled out for the honour.

The Council Chairman thanked the Bayelsa Federated Newspaper Publishers Association (BAFENPA) for the honour done him, stressing that the award will spur him to do more for the people.
In her vote of thanks, the Vice Chairperson of the Council, Dr. Mrs. Josephine Akandi-Ekeuwei, thanked the apex newspaper organization in the state for their due diligence during the selection process that made the Executive Chairman come first. She added that the honour will go down in the hearts of the people in the council, saying that more awards are expected because of her confidence in the Chairman’s performance in the area.
