‘Ball Boy’ Tonye Cycles 31.2km With Football On Head In Guinness World Record Bid
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA — Nigerian football freestyler Tonye Solomon, popularly known as “Ball Boy,” has completed a gruelling 31.2-kilometre bicycle ride while balancing a football on his head, braving rain-soaked roads for 2 hours, 11 minutes and 25 seconds in a bid for a third Guinness World Records title.
Solomon undertook the remarkable challenge in Bayelsa State, where he cycled through wet and difficult conditions without allowing the football to fall from his head.
Supporters and accompanying vehicles followed the attempt as the freestyler demonstrated remarkable balance, concentration and endurance throughout the journey.
The feat is the latest in Solomon’s pursuit of Guinness World Records recognition, having already established himself as a prominent figure in football freestyle with two previous record achievements.
Despite the challenging weather, Solomon maintained his composure and completed the 31.2km route, turning the attempt into a spectacle for supporters who gathered along the way.
The latest challenge will now be subject to Guinness World Records’ verification process before any new record is officially recognised.
Solomon’s attempt further underscores his reputation for combining football skills with endurance challenges as he seeks to add a third Guinness World Records title to his name.
