Bayelsa Government to Catalogue Tourism, Historic and Cultural Sites

Bayelsa State Government has reaffirmed it’s determination to catalogue tourism sites, historical and cultural heritages in the state.

The commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, Dr. Iti Orugbani stated this when the organisers and contestants of Beauty of Africa International Pageant, Nigeria (BAIP) paid him a courtesy call in his office recently in Yenagoa.

Dr. Orugbani disclosed that the compendium would in no small measure aids in easy comprehension of tourism potentials and cultural legacies for interested tourists and investors.

The commissioner called on the contestants to be disciplined, shun rancour and acrimony amongst them.

Earlier, the camp and Red carpet host of the Pageant, Miss Eniola Earnie-Whine had intimated the commissioner that BAIP offers girl child an opportunity to showcase her innate abilities and talents adding that 2021is the 14th edition with a theme”Value all Women”

Responding on behalf of the contestants, Miss Mebine Ayibapreye who also is Miss Bayelsa said that the State possesses natural endowement and if well harnessed would attract investors to the State.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Development, Mrs. Ruth Ouserigha-Etebu in the vote of thanks enjoined the contestants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and consider the Pageant as a stepping stone to a greater height adding that it should not be a DO or DIE battle.
