Beauty Queens Charged to Promote Good Morals

Beauty queens have been charged to be steadfast and strive to be good ambassadors of their families and countries.

The Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ayiba Duba gave the charge, when members of Miss Bayelsa Foundation paid him a courtesy call in his office, Yenagoa.

Hon. Duba who stated that the essence of becoming beauty queens is to celebrate women intelligence, integrity and promote value of their immediate constituencies.

He urged the foundation to expand its scope, by introducing programmes to help the girl child become resourceful to self and society.

He therefore called on Miss Bayelsa, Miss Bayelsa Cultural Ambassador, Miss Face of Bayelsa and Most Beautiful Girl in Bayelsa, to be focused on their studies, despite their obligations as beauty Queens.

Noting that as role models, they should project the good image and values of the State and country at large.

Earlier, the Director General of Miss Bayelsa Foundation, Barr. Oyindoubra Pregee, stated that the foundation is aimed at grooming and promoting the importance of the girl child in the State.

She noted that the pageant is an annual programme hosted in December, adding that the year 2020 programme amongst other things is aimed at projecting a film against Girl Child Abuse from 25th November to 10th December 2020 in the state.
