Delta Police Command Charged to Brace Up Against IPOB Challenges
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr Usman Baba Alkali has charged the Delta State Police Command to brace up against the challenges poised by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB in the state.
IGP Usman Alkali came out with this when he visited the state saying they should always prepare themselves to deal with criminality inorder to ensure that petty crimes and other social vices are reduced.
While speaking on the challenges of the command which includes IPOB activities and herdsmen attack, he noted that Delta State is susceptible to attacks due to its closeness to the Eastern region of the country.
He urged the police officers to be disciplined in the discharge of their duties inorder to prevent a reoccurrence of the EndSARS protest.
However, he stressed the need for the stop and search exercise to be done thoroughly with proper discretion before searching vehicles.
The Police boss used the occasion to commend the efforts of the Delta State Police Command in their fight against criminality adding that they should put more effort to ensure that residents of the state can carry out their daily duties without fear of molestation.
