Edward Onoja Shares 7 Leadership Tips He Learnt from Yahaya Bello
Complied by Dim Oba – Edward Onoja, deputy governor of Kogi State took his twitter page and shares 7 leadership tips, he claimed to have learnt from his boss, Governor Yahaya Bello.
He wrote, before outlining the seven leadership tips, “Earlier this week I received my Certificate of Clearance to contest in the APC Primaries for the 2023 Kogi State Governorship Elections slated for 14th April and 11th November respectively.
“As soon as I arrived at Lokoja the next day I drove straight to the exquisite Chapel complex that His Excellency built for Christian faithfuls inside the Government House and took out time to thank the Almighty God for another successful milestone on this journey of destiny.
“Later on at home, meditating on my quest to succeed my boss & my overall motives for embarking on it, I tasked myself to itemize key leadership attributes of GYB which I have imbibed the most, & which I would consider critical to maintaining his legacies & doing more for Kogites.
“So many quickly came to mind, but I’d like to share only 7 of them in this post. Definitely, there will be more parts coming out later. I’ve learned the following 7 leadership lessons from Governor Yahaya Bello in the last 7 years:
1/7: The first lesson is to have absolute faith, dependency, and trust in God as an overall approach to life. This foundation is crucial for any leader looking to make a positive impact on the world.
2/7: Governor Bello’s willingness to take uncharted routes to success and daring the impossible is the second lesson. Leaders must be willing to step out of their comfort zones and take calculated risks to achieve their goals.
3/7: The third lesson is about displaying unusual courage in the face of daunting challenges. Leaders must have the courage to face challenges head-on and inspire others to do the same.
4/7: Governor Bello’s ability to unify diverse and conflicting interests over common objectives through a sincere spirit of inclusion is the fourth lesson. Leaders must be inclusive and bring people together to achieve common goals.
5/7: The fifth lesson is the skill of listening, patience, and observations of all things and everyone. Leaders must listen to their team, stakeholders, and communities to gain insights and make informed decisions.
6/7: The sixth lesson is about integrity. Governor Bello keeps his word as his bond to individuals and communities. Leaders must have integrity and keep their promises to build trust and credibility.
7/7: Finally, Governor Bello consistently delivers undeniable and impactful results with less noise. The seventh lesson is that leaders must focus on results and not just on making noise. Actions speak louder than words.
