Growth Media Launches Transport Company To Mark Bayelsa At 30
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA – Yenagoa-based entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Growth Media, Joseph Zico, has launched a new transport company, Growth Transport, as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of Bayelsa State.
Zico, who announced the launch on Monday, said the initiative was conceived as the company’s contribution to the development of the state and an avenue to create employment opportunities for Bayelsans.
According to him, Growth Transport will begin operations with one bus, with plans to expand the fleet and create more jobs as the business grows.
He said, “As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of our dear Bayelsa State, we at Growth are using this milestone to officially launch our transport company, Growth Transport.
“This is our little way of joining hands with the government and contributing to the growth of our state by creating employment opportunities, starting with one or two persons from or living in Bayelsa.”
Zico explained that the name of the company reflected its vision of starting small and expanding into a bigger enterprise capable of impacting more lives.
He said the company’s aspiration was to see “one bus today, many buses tomorrow” and “one job today, many lives impacted tomorrow.”
The entrepreneur expressed optimism that the new venture would grow into a major transport business while contributing to the local economy through job creation and business opportunities.
He also prayed for the prosperity of Bayelsa State and the success of the new company.
“Because it is Growth Transport, our prayer is that these buses will grow, multiply, and replicate themselves in many folds,” he said.
“May God bless Bayelsa State, and may He bless and prosper Growth Transport. So help us, God.”
Growth Transport joins other private-sector initiatives emerging around the Bayelsa at 30 celebrations, with its founders saying the company is designed not only as a commercial venture but also as a modest contribution to the economic growth and employment prospects of the state.
