
Her Voice, Her Power: VIGC Calls for Entry Into Literary Contest
The Voice of the Ijaw Girl Child (VIGC), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based Yenagoa is calling for entry into its Literary Contest with the theme Her Voice, Her Power.
According to its e-flier circulating on social media noted that participants will write on the topic Scars She Shouldn’t Wear using any genres of literature of poetry, short story, essay, play, and spoken word.
The entry of the 2025 edition of VIGC’s Literary Contest is limited 1000 words and open to all secondary school students within Bayelsa State.
The e-flier stated that the Literary Contest is aimed at spotlighting the hidden battles girls face from gender-based violence, early marriage, and teenage pregnancy to the struggle for education and self-worth.
The Literary Contest will affort participants publication opportunities, various prizes and certification as deadline for submission is slated for September 20th, 2025.
