Ibinabo Fiberesima Releases Trailer of Her Movie, Amanyanabo: The Eagle King
Report by Jonah DaSaint – Nollywood veteran actress and movie producer, Ibinabo Fiberesima releases the trailer of her much-anticipated movie entitled “Amanyanabo: The Eagle King” on her official Facebook page.
The movie which tells the story of Africa and her system, culture, and traditions in the pre-colonial era as well as Africa’s contact with the European colonialists in the early 19th Century featured many Nollywood A-list actors including Nkem Owoh, Monalisa Chinda, Walter Anga, Gentle Jack among others.
The movie is directed by the veteran Nollywood Filmmaker, Fred Amata, and produced by Ibinabo Fiberesima who also co-starred in it.
Sharing the trailer on Facebook, Fiberesima wrote: “The story of Africa cannot be complete without her traditions, culture, and mystery.
“Her Kings were wise, strong, and ruled over kingdoms with standing armies. Her women were beautiful and resourceful.
“There were laws and administrative processes in place. It simply wasn’t true that we were uncivilized
“Now that we have the tools, we will recount our history, just the way it is.
“We traded with the Portuguese as equals and withstood colonialism as bravely and honestly as we could.
“Our story is in our blood, held deep in the heart of our lands, and we will tell it. We will tell the story of… Amanyanabo “The Eagle King.”
