INEC Announces Date for Collection of PVC in Bayelsa State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Bayelsa state announces that from Monday December 12, 2022 as date for all successfully captured registrants can collect their Permanent Voters Card, PVC from the commission’s centres at the various local government areas in the state.

This development was made known by the state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Emmanuel Alex Hart during a press conference held at the Professor Mahmood Yakubu Media Center in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner who was represented by the commission’s Administrative Secretary, Mr Okpop Umobong said one million, two hundred, fifty thousand, one hundred and two PVCS and ready for collection.

He noted that between Monday December 12, 2022 and Sunday January, 22, 2023, the commission would be accessible every day of the week for the collection of the PVCS .

“We received at the state level batches of PVCS produced for all registrants which includes new registrants, transfers, replacement and update or correction in bio-data. The PVCS have been sorted and counted by our local government areas staff and would be taken to the various INEC offices in the state in readiness for collection by the owners”.

Also speaking, the Head of Department, Information and Communication Technology and Voter Registry, Mr Frank Ibenaye Allen assured Bayelsans that the commission has made the collection of PVCS easy to ensure that registered voters are not disenfranchised in the elections.

“We have made it as easy as possible in line with the commission’s position such that voters are not disenfranchised ”

He explained that there are three major aspects to the process to the collection of PVCS which are, display of the PVC register, meeting the issuance officer or help desk to present the slip and where the PVC is found, the voter would thumbprint before collection.
