Isaac Fayose Slams Brother Over Oyo Kidnapping Remarks
Lagos, Nigeria – Businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, has publicly criticized his elder brother and former Ayodele Fayose, over comments linking the recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State to the state government.
In a strongly worded reaction shared on social media, Isaac Fayose expressed disappointment over remarks allegedly made by the former governor suggesting that the kidnapping may have been orchestrated by the Oyo State Government as part of a plot to blackmail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Shame caught me after watching my brother’s interview last night,” Isaac Fayose stated.
Questioning the basis of the allegation, he recalled incidents of kidnapping that occurred in Ekiti State during previous administrations and challenged his brother’s position.
“When people were kidnapped in our state, Ekiti, why didn’t you accuse the governor? Why are you now saying that the Governor of Oyo State might have a hand in the Oyo kidnapping?” he asked.
Isaac Fayose further advised the former governor to refrain from making controversial statements if he had no concrete evidence to support his claims.
“My brother, if you don’t have anything meaningful to say, keep quiet like other former governors,” he added.
The comments have sparked discussions on social media, with many Nigerians debating the propriety of linking criminal incidents to political actors without substantiated evidence.
Neither the Oyo State Government nor former Governor Fayose had officially responded to Isaac Fayose’s remarks as of the time of filing this report.
The exchange highlights growing tensions over political commentary surrounding insecurity and the need for public figures to exercise caution when making allegations on sensitive security matters.
