Jesus was at a wedding in Galilee when they ran out of wine. He told the workers to fill six stone pots with water, which meant hauling around 180 gallons of water from the well, bucket after bucket. It would have been easy to stay encouraged if the water changed to wine when they poured it in the pots, but nothing changed. It’s when God can trust you to be faithful in the ordinary that He’ll do the extraordinary. You may be believing for wine, but you’re only seeing water. Be faithful in your water days; wine is coming. It’s going to happen suddenly, unexpectedly.

When the workers drew water out of the pots and took it to the host of the banquet, it had not just turned into wine, but it was the highest quality wine! When you pass the test in your water days, what’s in your future is going to be more exciting, more rewarding, more fulfilling than you’ve ever imagined.

Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for calling me to be faithful in my water days, when I’m not seeing the change I’d like to see. Thank You that the wine is coming, that You will bring the extraordinary out of the ordinary. I will be faithful and look forward to Your very best. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

“There’s no greater feeling than being able to help people rise higher and overcome something and feel better about themselves. I think that we’re all made to help others, to lift people UP.” – JOEL OSTEEN

About Joel Osteen

Raised in Houston, Texas, with a loving family of seven and world-renowned parents in full-time ministry, Joel Osteen never imagined that he would follow so closely in his father’s footsteps. As a young man, his training and interests were behind the scenes in television production, though he was close to his father in ministry.

His father always encouraged him to preach, but Joel would politely decline time and time again until one day in October 1999 when his father was admitted to the hospital with kidney complications. Joel finally agreed to preach the next Sunday, and his father passed the following week. Joel’s first sermon was the last his father ever heard. Joel and his wife, Victoria, were suddenly thrust into full-time leadership of Lakewood Church.
