The Scripture says, “You are a chosen people, set apart, and called by God.” One version says, “A peculiar people.” Not weird, but different. You’re supposed to stand out. You’re supposed to be the exception. Everyone else is compromising.
Not you. You’ve been set apart. “All my coworkers complain, Joel. They bad mouth the company. They all come in late and cut corners.” That’s fine for them. You’re not responsible for their lives, but that’s not who you are. You’re a cut above.
You’ve been called to live with integrity, honesty, excellence. When they’re complaining, don’t let that poison get in you. Don’t join in and add to the problem. Be a part of the solution. Be grateful that you have a job.
“Lord, I want to thank You that You’ve blessed me with employment.” They come in late; be the exception. You get there early. You do more than you have to. Don’t sink down to their level.
You may face things in life that try to push you down. God put something in your spirit called bounce back.
This means when you get knocked down you get back up. You may be down, but this is not your final destination. If you talk defeat, you are going to have that.
Speak in faith and put your trust in the hands of God. You don’t have to get out of the pits of despair by yourself, God is going to lift you out. Nothing you face can keep you from your purpose.
