
NCDMB Begins Vocational Training Programme for Youths
Yenagoa – The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced the first stream of its vocational and specialized training programme for youths across various field locations, as part of its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by the Manager of the Board’s Intervention Training Unit, Chinelo Nnoli, said the initiative was designed to equip Nigerian youths with vocational, entrepreneurial, and modern business skills needed to enhance productivity, self-reliance, and global competitiveness.
According to him, the programme aligns with the Board’s mandate of promoting sustainable development through capacity building and creating opportunities for young Nigerians to thrive in an evolving economic environment.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Lakeview Communications Ltd., Nathan Egbe, commended NCDMB for its consistent investment in youth-focused empowerment initiatives. He urged participants to remain disciplined, dedicated, and fully engaged throughout the training period to maximize the benefits of the programme.
In his presentation, the Lead Presenter for Lakeview Communications Ltd., Stephen Ogbuse, outlined the various training modules to be covered during the exercise. These include tailoring, catering and food processing, as well as sessions on branding, customer relations, communication, and business development.
The three-week training programme is expected to provide participants with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills that will enhance their employability, support business creation, and contribute to sustainable livelihoods and economic growth.
The initiative further underscores NCDMB’s commitment to developing a skilled workforce capable of driving local content participation and fostering inclusive development across the country.
