NCDMB Hosts Bayelsa Tertiary Students, Showcases Youth-Focused Opportunities and Local Content Achievements
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) hosted students from various tertiary institutions across Bayelsa State at the Nigerian Content Tower, Yenagoa, as part of its continuous efforts to deepen youths’ understanding of its mandate, programmes, and growing opportunities within Nigeria’s local content space.
Welcoming the students, the General Manager, Human Capital Development, Barr. Esueme Dan Kikile, emphasized the importance of early exposure to leadership and national development initiatives. He urged the young attendees to embrace leadership, civic responsibility, and active political participation, describing these qualities as essential for building a progressive society.
Barr. Kikile also highlighted several youth-driven avenues provided by the Board, including the NCDMB Olympiad, capacity-building programmes, and specialized trainings accessible through the NOGIC JQS portal, which serves as a gateway for skills development and industry placement.
Speaking further, the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, took the students through an overview of the Board’s achievements and major projects currently underway in Bayelsa State. He outlined NCDMB’s substantial investments in human capacity development, infrastructure, and partnerships aimed at boosting local participation in the oil and gas industry.
Dr. Ezeobi encouraged the students to become ambassadors of the Board, promoting accurate narratives about NCDMB’s work and the impact of Nigeria’s local content policy on national growth. He noted that informed young people play a crucial role in reshaping perceptions and building public trust.
The interactive session featured a lively Q&A segment, allowing students to seek clarifications and share insights on career development and local content opportunities.
