Splendors of Dawn Poetry Foundation in collaboration with the Abuja Literary Society (ALS) and the World Poetry Movement (WPM) hosted a Special Valentine of Music and Poetry tagged “Love is Collaboration.”

According to organizers of the program, Love is Collaboration a poetry event aimed at having poets connect and collaborate on poetry, to show and talk about the wonder of love.

Performances at the evening are renowned Nigerian poets, spoken word artists and good music as well as a night of giving love and networking among legendary poets and upcoming artists.

Mr. Odoh Diego Okenyodo, who is the Country Director of Splendor of Dawn Poetry Foundation and Coordinator of World Poetry Movement, Nigeria told newsmen at the event that the World Poetry Foundation believes in collaboration and amplify the voices of different literary groups and artists.

Okenyodo said they are bringing the artists together to collaborate and not to compete adding that collaboration is the key way to their operations.

For holding this event on Valentine’s day, the Nigeria’s Coordinator of the World Poetry Movement, said, “For valentine’s day, we believe it’s day people will talk about love surely; instead of discussing erotic love alone but we picked a theme called love is collaboration.

“What we do at Splendor and World Poetry Movement, we try to use poetry to promote peace, harmony, understanding and peaceful coexistence. How do we do that by sticking to your owe side when you don’t understand the other person”, he noted.

Deji Ige, a spoken word poet at the event performed a poem titled ‘Before I Bow to a greater Powers’ that deals with helpless love when someone cannot hold back him or her self from loving someone else describing it as true and pure.
