Project Commissioning: City Boy Movement Lauds Diri, Rallies Support for Tinubu’s Re-Election
The City Boy Movement has commended Douye Diri for what it described as remarkable developmental strides, as it intensified calls for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 polls.
Director General of the movement, Shaga Oluwantosi, who spoke in Yenagoa, said the landmark projects slated for commissioning by the President would usher in unprecedented development and accelerate industrial growth in Bayelsa State.
Oluwantosi noted that the projects align with the promises made by Governor Diri upon assumption of office, expressing optimism that their completion would significantly improve the living standards of Bayelsans.
“We are all happy and waiting to see these projects being commissioned. We believe they will have a high impact on the lives of Bayelsans,” he stated.
He further disclosed that the patron of the movement, Seyi Tinubu, is expected to visit the state office of the group, describing him as a driving force behind youth mobilization across the country.
According to him, the City Boy Movement has built a formidable grassroots structure nationwide, positioning itself as a key mobilization platform for President Tinubu’s return in 2027.
Meanwhile, Bayelsa State Director of the movement, Blankson Osomkime, joined other Nigerians in appreciating President Tinubu for visiting the state to commission legacy projects.
Osomkime described the visit as historic, noting that Bayelsa is the first state in the South-South region to host the President for such commissioning activities.
He lauded Governor Diri for executing what he termed “remarkable projects” aimed at enhancing the socio-economic wellbeing of the people.
Among the projects listed for commissioning are the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, the New Yenagoa City Road, the Ekeremor-Agge Road, and a 60-megawatt gas-fired power plant expected to boost electricity supply across the state.
Osomkime urged Nigerians to sustain support for President Tinubu’s administration, citing ongoing policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda as critical to national development.
He also revealed plans by the movement to roll out a large-scale empowerment programme targeted at youths and men in Bayelsa, aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic participation.
The initiative, he said, is facilitated by Seyi Tinubu, whom he described as a humane leader, while commending other directors for their commitment to strengthening the organization.
He announced that the empowerment programme is scheduled to hold on the 15th of the month, assuring that it would have far-reaching impact on beneficiaries.
Osomkime called on Bayelsans and Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for President Tinubu, emphasizing the need for continuity to consolidate ongoing development efforts across the country.
