Safeguard Your Children Against Drug Abuse, Adu Charges Parents
Dr. Emmanuel Adu, State Coordinator of Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative (AADARAI), has charged parents to safeguard their wards and children from abusing drugs and other substances.
Speaking with newsmen during the Bayelsa Walk Against Drug Abuse to mark this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dr. Adu said the primary assignment of parents is to protect their children from harm.
According to the AADARAI State Coordinator, the abuse is alarming across the country, causing severe harm to the mental health of the users.
Dr. Emmanuel Adu advised parents to be watchful and monitor the movement of their children at all times, adding that they should report any awkward movement to relevant government agents.
AADARAI joined other key stakeholders in the walk from the Samson Siasia Stadium through major streets of Yenagoa and returned to the stadium. This year’s theme is “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention.”
