INSIGHT | Streams of Joy Daily Devotional by Jerry Eze Tuesday 2nd January 2024 Today | The God That Sees Me

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Hagar called the name of the Lord that spoke to her, “You are the God who sees”. The Lord saw Hagar while she was in the desert. Notice that Hagar had been driven out of the home of Abram on account of her bad behavior towards her mistress. She was judged harshly by the men she failed, but that was when the eyes of the Lord turned in her direction. Men rejected her, but El Roi saw her.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2024, wherever men have judged and treated you harshly, El Roi is turning up for you. For every rejection, El Roi is turning up for you. For every disadvantage, El Roi is turning up for you. For every misfortune, El Roi is turning up for you. For every condemnation from men and systems, El Roi is turning up for you. For every vulnerable situation you may be in, El Roi is turning up for you.

Hagar used her own actions to cause damage to her own destiny, but El Roi saw her right in the desert. She literally put herself in a bad situation, but El Roi turned up for her. Hear me as I hear the Lord: for every bad situation you pushed yourself into, El Roi is turning up for you. For every helper that rejected you, El Roi is turning up for you. For every opportunity that you were rejected from, El Roi is turning up for you.

The rejection of men turned the eyes of El Roi in Hagar’s direction. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the rejection of men will turn the eyes of the Lord in your favour. When men say no to you, El Roi will be available to see you. When life puts you in unfruitful places, the eyes of El Roi will see you. When it seems that the errors of your past want to confine you in the wrong places, the eyes of El Roi will turn in your direction.

Don’t be scared of rejection. Don’t be scared of the harsh judgement of men. In 2024, when men judge you harshly, El Roi will treat you kindly. When men reject you, the eyes of El Roi will turn in your direction.

Psalm 33: 18 says: “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;”

Declare With Me: Wherever I was previously rejected, in 2024, the eyes of El Roi see me, in Jesus’ name!
