Toyin Abraham Declares Herself One of Nollywood’s Richest Actresses, Reveals ₦40m Film Deal
By Richard Emi, ENTERTAINMENT DESK – Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has declared that she is among the wealthiest actresses in the Nigerian film industry, insisting that her financial success is backed by tangible achievements rather than mere publicity.
The actress made the declaration while speaking about her financial journey and the major breakthrough she experienced after beginning to work with film distribution company FilmOne Movies.
According to Abraham, her financial fortunes changed significantly when she secured her first deal with the company, earning more than ₦40 million for her first film collaboration.
She contrasted the payment with what she described as the relatively low earnings actresses received in the Yoruba movie industry, suggesting that working with bigger industry platforms opened up better financial opportunities for her.
“I’m one of the richest actresses. I’m not just making noise,” she reportedly declared.
Her revelation has sparked conversations about the disparity in earnings across different segments of Nollywood, particularly between the Yoruba-language film sector and the mainstream English-language movie market.
It has also drawn attention to the growing commercial opportunities available to Nigerian filmmakers through strategic partnerships with major distribution companies.
Abraham, who has built a successful career as an actress, producer and filmmaker, is among the prominent figures in Nollywood whose films have enjoyed significant commercial attention.
Her comments have once again brought the issue of actors’ remuneration, film distribution deals and the business potential of Nigeria’s movie industry into public discussion.
