The Executive Officer of Renew Empire of Nigeria and Renew Empire of Republic of Turkey, Engr. Gospel Obolo has reteirated the need to bring new innovations in the entertainment industry in the country with a view to integrating other recreational concepts like sports, cultural displays and heritages so as to further boost the tourism subsector.
Accordingto him, this would go a long way in changing the narrative of the entertainment industry as more youths would be taken out of the streets which is the idea behind the concept.
Engr. Obolo who disclosed this at the opening ceremony of Renew Empire Entertainment, Sports and Tourism Centre in Portharcourt, Rivers state noted that this type of entertainment is what is currently obtainable in most advanced counties of the world, emphasizing that the private sector plays important roles in the meaningful engagement of unemployed youths.
Hefurther pointed out that this is also aimed at showcasing the country ‘s culture to the rest of the world because tourism is a big business that can further generate huge income to the country, stressing that the time has come for stakeholders in the tourism subsector to expand the scope of tourism by integrating creativity and innovativeness in the sector.
Engr. Obolo hinted that tourism in Rivers state is not thriving as compared with other parts of the world because the state has varieties of beautiful cultures that have not been fully tapped for the benefit of the society as a whole.
In his words ‘The Ikweres in Rivers state are talented in traditional wrestling which is fast eroding away and now that I am in thier midst, I will bring it back to life again. This will encourage the Ikwere Youths to take wrestling as a vocation and by so doing, it can earn them a living.
The CEO who is the first African to own a football academy in Republic of Turkey emphazized that the sports sector need to look deeply into other sports activites ike Kickboxing and other martial arts, stressing that he would partner with the Tourism and Sports sectors to engage the unemployed youths at early ages.
He used the opportunity to advice the youths never to give up on their dreams and ambitions and avoid drugs and other inimical activities.
