Youth Group Bestows Award of Excellence as ‘Icon of Women Empowerment’ on Dr. Yusuf JS

Dr. Yusuf John Suberu, philanthropist and Senior Pastor of Touch for Recovery Outreach International TROI Abuja has received an award for excellence as Icon for Women Development in Nigeria.

The award was bestowed on the revered clergyman by the National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria during an award ceremony held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the body, Dr. Yusuf fondly referred to Dr. Yusuf JS, the clergy’s commitment and passion for women empowerment and development cannot go unnoticed stating that women empowerment is pivotal role in Nigeria.

The body noted that the Mrs. Ladi Kwali Platinum Leadership Award of Excellence as Icon of Women Empowerment is a recognition of Dr. Yusuf’s contribution towards the progress of women in a society where women have been neglected and marginalized.

They stated that he has used his position as philanthropist to add value to the educational development of women around on daily basis particularly to widows through his provision of shelter and scholarship grant for their children.

The National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria is a body cut across the 36 states of Nigeria including Abuja with no gender bias but focused on championing the course of women in every state of the country.

In the letter of award, the group explained that annually personalities are been recognized for their selfless services that are engraved in the sands of time that have made humanity better especially liberating women from the shackles of poverty, ignorance, illiteracy and all forms of deprivation of women.

Dr. Yusuf is a firm believer of humanity and has contributed in no small measure in the development of women through his foundation providing shelter, scholarship grants and livelihood for the less privileged women in society.

An elated Dr. Yusuf thanked the body for finding him worthy of such a National award of excellence at a time like this saying that he is shocked that his little contributions to humanity is been noticed.

He said, “I thank God for the provision at my disposal to give to the needy and less privileged in society as well as humanity at large.

“For me, the award is a silent reminder for us to do more for women. Women play a critical role in the development of any society; therefore it is important everybody should be concerned to attend to their needs at anytime.

“By the grace of God, for as a pastor and the many privileged I have enjoyed, I am rededicating myself to the service of humanity through this award that was given to me”, he said.
