
Bayelsa Celebrates Jonjon Olali Samuel at Retirement After 26 Years of Meritorious Service
After 26 years of distinguished service in the Bayelsa State Civil Service, Engr. Jonjon Olali Samuel, the pioneer Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, has officially retired, leaving behind a legacy of discipline, professionalism, and impactful leadership.
The retirement ceremony, held Monday at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Yenagoa, drew top government officials, members of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries, family, friends, and professional associates, including representatives of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, all gathered to honour his remarkable career.
In her address, the Honourable Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Mrs. Faith Izibenua Zibs-Godwin, described Engr. Olali Samuel as a seasoned technocrat whose influence extended beyond administrative systems to shaping lives and mentoring future leaders. She praised his steady leadership, attention to detail, and enduring contributions to the ministry.
Also speaking, the Head of Service, Dr. Wisdom Ebiye Sawyer, commended the retiring Permanent Secretary as a symbol of professionalism and institutional strength. He urged civil servants to emulate his dedication and commitment to excellence.
