Bayelsa Clocks 25: Bayelsans Share Opinions and Aspirations

October 1, 1996 is a day that gave birth to the creation of Bayelsa State, now the state clocks 25 years. Many Bayelsans have been expressing their opinion on it way forward.

Chairman of the Bayelsa State Emergency Agency, Mr Wannerman Igrubia said although the state has not attained it’s desired height but it is making steady progress.

Mr Igrubia noted that the journey of 25 years has not been easy due to the challenges of difficult terrain and insufficient funds but he expressed optimism that Bayelsa would surmount these challenges.

However, he said that the state has been blessed with good leadership adding that with the current administration, the state would make significant progress in the next few years.

Also speaking, member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Remi Kuku expressed gratitude to God for the creation of the state saying it has given us an identity.

She called on all Bayelsans to pray for the state and give their support to Governor Douye Diri to move the state forward.

On her part, Special Adviser to the governor on Women in Politics, Mrs Josephine Ekeuwei remarked that Bayelsa has come a long way from where it use to be but things can only get better.

She urged all Bayelsans to see the state as our own and work towards development adding that the government cannot do it alone hence all Bayelsans should join hands with the governor to develop the state.
