BMNA To Honour HRH Mason Lucky Unuke As “Traditional Ruler Of The Year”
Yenagoa – Organizers of the prestigious Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA), the most credible recognition platform in the Niger Delta known for its transparent and credible selection process, have nominated HRH Mason Lucky Unuke, Paramount Ruler of Ususu Community, Joinkrama, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, for the Award of Excellence as “Traditional Ruler of the Year.”
In a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, the Project Manager of BMNA, Mr. Blessing Matthew Ozegbe, said the nomination of the revered monarch is a result of his pedigree and consistency in promoting peace initiatives and advocacy, especially at the grassroots level.
Mr. Ozegbe described HRH Mason Lucky Unuke as a man of impeccable character, honesty, and integrity; a bridge builder, peacemaker, philanthropist, distinguished leader, human capacity builder, and compassionate monarch whose love for his people and humanity remains incomparable and genuine.
Ozegbe further described the monarch, who is happily married to Mrs. (Lolo) Asuefien Mason Unuke, as a developmental-minded personality who has attracted growth and progress to his community despite the absence of government presence and zero support from multinational companies and other government agencies.
He urged the revered monarch not to relent in his efforts, noting that his antecedents in peace building and silent empowerment programmes are commendable and have placed him in the spotlight.
The BMNA Project Manager also admonished other royal fathers in Engenni Kingdom and Nigeria at large to emulate the peace advocacy initiatives of HRH Mason Lucky Unuke and apply similar measures in their respective kingdoms.
The statement further revealed that the award ceremony will take place later in the year at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Azikoro Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
