BYSACA Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Systems, Improving HIV Response
The Director-General of the Bayelsa State Agency for the Control of AIDS (BYSACA), Dr. Temple Iluma, has said collaborative learning and sustained system strengthening plays a critical role in enhancing the state’s response to the menace of HIV.
Dr. Iluma disclosed this during the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) mentorship session organised by the Centre for Clinical Care and Clinical Research Nigeria in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
According to the Director-General, sustained capacity building in the form of continuous learning and advocacy efforts foster innovative approaches in tackling HIV.
Dr. Iluma, who was represented by the Agency’s Information Officer, Mrs. Ebizimo Agedah, added that the training is timely and impactful, noting that its focus on improving service delivery, strengthening institutional processes, and promoting a culture of continuous learning would significantly boost healthcare quality across HIV interventions in the state.
While commending CCCRN for its commitment to advancing quality improvement practices, the BYSACA Director-General expressed the agency’s readiness to deepen collaboration with partners to deliver sustainable, high-quality healthcare services to communities across Bayelsa.
In his remarks, Deputy Chief of Party of CCCRN, Dr. Niyi Afolabi, underscored the transformative impact of CQI, encouraging participants to adopt it not only as a work tool but as a personal principle for growth and excellence.
Dr. Afolabi said the mentorship session forms part of CCCRN’s continuous efforts to build institutional capacity, promote evidence-based solutions, and drive measurable improvements in HIV programmes across Bayelsa State.
