The ₦2.15 trillion offering represents a major milestone for the Dangote Refinery, which has emerged as one of the most significant private-sector investments in Nigeria’s energy sector.
The public offering also provides investors with an opportunity to take an equity position in the refinery and petrochemicals business while deepening the relationship between Nigeria’s industrial sector and the domestic capital market.
Speaking at the occasion, Dangote’s presence at the NGX signalled the importance attached to broadening Nigerian ownership and participation in the company through the capital market.
The development is expected to attract significant attention from institutional and retail investors, given the strategic importance of the refinery to Nigeria’s petroleum supply chain and the wider economy.
The NGX gathering therefore marked more than the opening of a share offer; it represented a significant intersection of Nigerian industry, investment and national economic ambition.
