Premas Delight CEO Credits Passion, Customer Referrals for Business Growth in Yenagoa
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA – The Chief Executive Officer of Premas Delight Enterprises, Mrs Precious Emmanuel Obinna, has attributed the growth of her catering and confectionery business in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to passion, professional training, customer satisfaction and referrals.
Obinna, who spoke with journalists in Yenagoa during a meeting with organisers of the Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA), said she would receive an award at the ceremony scheduled for December 26, 2026.
She explained that Premas Delight Enterprises started as a home-based business driven by her passion for baking, which she later developed through formal training and master classes to transform her hobby into a source of income.
According to her, the business specialises in baking cakes, meat pies and other pastries, as well as providing indoor and outdoor catering services for different occasions.
She said its food offerings include jollof rice, fried rice, moi moi and other dishes, with menus tailored to customers’ preferences and specific orders.
“We make dishes for your celebration; we bring life to your celebration. That is what we stand for,” she said.
On the challenges of operating a food business amid rising market prices, Obinna said she adopts cost-saving measures by purchasing ingredients in bulk to keep her products and services affordable.
She explained that bulk purchasing helps reduce production costs, allowing her to offer moderate prices that accommodate customers’ budgets without making losses.
The entrepreneur noted that although baking initially came naturally to her, she later pursued professional training to improve her skills and strengthen her business.
Speaking on government support and customer patronage, Obinna disclosed that she paid for the space where she currently operates, adding that the business has recorded encouraging patronage since its establishment.
She said customers often purchase food for takeaway, while others place orders by telephone for delivery to their offices and other locations.
According to her, the business sometimes sells out its available food by 11 a.m., a development she attributed to the quality of its products and the growing number of returning customers.
She added that referrals from satisfied customers have contributed significantly to the business’s expansion, attracting clients from locations far beyond its immediate neighbourhood.
Obinna disclosed that Premas Delight Enterprises commenced operations in April 2025 and has continued to grow despite the financial difficulties confronting small businesses.
Offering advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, she encouraged those with business ideas to start with the resources and space available to them rather than waiting for perfect conditions.
“If you have a dream, start from where you are, even if it is in your kitchen or outside or any space you have, just start,” she advised.
She recalled that her business began from home before progressing to its current location, expressing optimism about expanding beyond its present level.
According to her, entrepreneurs should focus on developing their products and services, believing that consistency and determination can create opportunities for growth.
On her most challenging experience, the Premas Delight CEO identified inadequate finance as her biggest obstacle but expressed gratitude for the support she receives from her husband and customers.
She described her husband as her principal supporter, saying his encouragement has helped her overcome difficult moments when the business faces financial pressure.
Obinna also noted that some customers have voluntarily offered assistance when they discover the challenges she is facing, describing such gestures as important to her ability to sustain the business.
She expressed appreciation for the support and patronage of her customers, reaffirming her determination to expand Premas Delight Enterprises and reach a wider market.
Her forthcoming recognition at the Bayelsa Media Network Awards on December 26, 2026, comes as she continues to build a business around baking, catering and customer-focused food services in Yenagoa.
