Dickson Promises to Pursue Agge Seaport Under Obi Presidency
…Says NDC Will Unveil Development Plans for Bayelsa Ahead of 2027 Elections
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA –Â Former Bayelsa State Governor and National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has pledged to work with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to ensure the execution of the proposed Agge Seaport project if the party wins the 2027 presidential election.
Dickson gave the assurance during a visit to his home state, where he called on Bayelsans to support Obi and other NDC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
He declared that an NDC-led government under Obi would give renewed attention to the Agge Seaport project, which he considers important to Bayelsa’s economic development.
“When Peter Obi becomes President, I will work with him to see that the Agge Seaport project is executed,” Dickson said.
The former governor also disclosed that the party would unveil its development plans for Bayelsa State when its leaders return for the official election campaigns.
“When we are back for the official campaigns, we will unveil the NDC plans for Bayelsa State,” he stated.
Dickson urged the people of Bayelsa to give their votes to Obi and the NDC, expressing confidence in the party’s capacity to present an alternative political and development agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
His remarks place the proposed Agge Seaport project among the key development issues likely to feature in the NDC’s campaign engagements with Bayelsans, particularly as the state looks towards opportunities for economic expansion and greater participation in the maritime sector.
The NDC National Leader ended his appeal with a call for national renewal, declaring: “Nigeria must be OK.”
