
Diri at 67: Rivers Community in Bayelsa Lauds Governor’s Peace-Building Efforts
By Our Correspondent – The President of the Rivers Community in Bayelsa State, Chief Prince Beteh Barisuka, PhD, has felicitated with the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, describing him as a leader whose commitment to peace, stability, and inclusive governance has transformed the state’s socio-political landscape.
In a goodwill message issued on Thursday, Chief Barisuka said Governor Diri’s administration has distinguished itself through deliberate policies and initiatives aimed at fostering unity among the diverse ethnic nationalities and communities residing in Bayelsa State.
According to the Rivers Community leader, one of Governor Diri’s most enduring legacies remains his unwavering pursuit of peace, which has significantly contributed to creating an enabling environment for development, investment, and harmonious coexistence across the state.
“On behalf of the Rivers Community in Bayelsa State, I warmly congratulate His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, on his 67th birthday. This milestone offers an opportunity to celebrate a leader whose dedication to peace and good governance has continued to inspire confidence among the people of Bayelsa,” Barisuka stated.
He noted that since assuming office, Governor Diri has consistently promoted dialogue, reconciliation, and community engagement as tools for conflict resolution, helping to strengthen relationships among various groups and stakeholders within the state.
Chief Barisuka further commended the governor for sustaining an atmosphere of security and peaceful coexistence, which he said has enabled communities, businesses, and residents to thrive without fear or division.
