
Kalabari Community Election: Rivers Community President, Chief Barisuka Congratulates New Leadership
By Our Staff Reporter – The President of the Rivers State Community in Bayelsa State, Chief Prince Beteh Barisuka, Ph.D, has congratulated Alabo Pedro Innocent on his emergence as Chairman of the Kalabari Community in Bayelsa State following a peaceful and transparent election conducted last weekend.
Chief Barisuka described the election as a remarkable demonstration of democracy, unity, and collective responsibility among members of the Kalabari Community resident in Bayelsa State.
In a congratulatory message, the Rivers Community President praised the newly elected chairman and urged him to see his victory as a call to selfless service and an opportunity to further strengthen the bonds of unity and development within the community.
He expressed confidence in the ability of Alabo Pedro Innocent and his team to build on the achievements of the immediate past administration led by Prince Anabs Nimisongo, while assuring the new leadership of his support as they assume office.
Chief Barisuka also commended the Electoral Committee (ELECO), led by Hon. Dr. Madapuye Dokubo Felix, for conducting what he described as a peaceful, credible, free, and fair election that reflected the wishes of the people.
He equally lauded the role played by the monarch of the Kalabari Community in Bayelsa State, HRH King Engr. Williams Parker, whose leadership and commitment to transparency contributed significantly to the success of the electoral process.
According to him, the successful conduct of the election serves as a model for community-based democratic engagement and reinforces the values of accountability, inclusiveness, and good governance.
While congratulating all members of the Kalabari Community for the peaceful outcome of the exercise, Chief Barisuka urged the newly elected officials to remain focused on the welfare of the people and the continued advancement of the community.
“The victory is not only for the elected leadership but for the entire Kalabari Community. I congratulate Alabo Pedro Innocent and wish his administration a successful tenure,” he stated.
